
Associate Professor of the Department of International Economics Skorobogatova N. Ye. from May 12 to 16, 2025, underwent an internship at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland) within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA 171 mobility Program. As part of the International Staff Training Week 2025 “Engagement the Public with the Science and Technology through Effective Communication”, the 2nd International Conference The Social Context of Sciences, which focused on “Interdisciplinarity and Technology Assessment” (May 12-13, 2025) was held.

Keynote Speakers were: Serge Galam, CEVIPOF – Centre for Political Research at Sciences Po and CNRS, Paris, France with the topic “A Daring Strategy for Fake News: No Bans, No Fact-Checking, BUT Sequestration”; Armin Grunwald, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany “Technology assessment in and for the digital transformation”; Rainer Hegselmann, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Germany “Modelling public discourse: A computational approach to polarisation, radicalisation,and truth seeking under disinformation”; Bettina-Johanna Krings, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany “Becoming an Academic Discipline in Germany: TA from policy advice to problem-oriented research”; Joanna Różyńska, University of Warsaw, Poland, “The ethics of paying research participants: a moral obligation or a necessary evil?”.

The main areas discussed during the conference were devoted to issues of social and managerial aspects in conducting research, the application of interdisciplinarity, the impact of new technologies on scientific communities and society, etc. Participants in the discussions discussed the impact of science on the formation of society and how, in turn, social factors influence the trajectory of scientific research and its application.

A series of workshops took place over the following days:
1. “Unconscious Bias in Science” with Lisa Mittischek, PhD, Gender, Diversity & Equal Opportunities Unit, TU Graz, where issues of unconscious bias in the educational process and during scientific research that can affect the quality of communication processes and the results obtained were considered. Case studies were analysed within working groups consisting of representatives of different universities participating in the International Mobility Week.
2. “Step Forward in Accessibility” with Prof. Katarzyna Jach, Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Accessibility, Academic teacher at the Faculty of Management, Wrocław Tech. The session was held in an interactive format, which allowed not only to get acquainted with the measures taken at the Wrocław Tech to ensure the study and work opportunities of people with disabilities, but also to participate in the use of certain tools, communication with university graduates who have physical disabilities and remained to work at this educational institution.
3. “How to Talk About Science” – this workshop was conducted by Lucyna Rog Wolska Ma and Maciej Mulak, PhD, Eng, Wroclaw Tech. The scientists provided practical information and advice on how to convey information to the audience in a way that arouses interest and understanding of the essence of complex processes.
4. “Social Media and the Future for Communication” with Jash Chawla, PhD, Wroclaw Tech, where trends in the use of digital technologies and their impact on society and the educational process were discussed. Participants took part in discussing how these technologies are used in the educational process and in conducting scientific research at universities that were presented at the International Week.
Participation in the internship program contributed to strengthening professional competencies, allowed to get acquainted with the experience of organizing the educational process and conducting scientific research at foreign universities, and expand the network of international partners of the Department of International Economics and the Faculty of Management and Marketing.
